A fatal industrial accident occurred at Optimus Steel in Orange County as reported by Captain Joey Jacobs. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Monday at the plant located near Rose City. Early reports suggest the accident was caused by a piece of machinery catching fire. The injured worker was taken to a nearby hospital, where he ultimately passed away.
An autopsy has been ordered to determine the specific cause of death.
The incident will be investigated thoroughly by both the Sheriff’s Office and OSHA.
